The Burgundy Glass
The ideal glass for red (Pinot Noir) and white Burgundy (Chardonnay). This is the glass to go for when opening a special bottle of lighter bodied red wine with medium to low tannins; or rich, fuller bodied white wines - particularly those with oak influence and lees aging. This will also be a great glass for orange wine (white grapes which are fermented in contact with their skins). This glass has a generously wide waist, whilst still being able to fit on your dining table (and in your dishwasher). Whilst others may be wider, ours will not create its own gravitational pull when you swirl your precious juice.
Grape Varietals: Pinot Noir, Gamay, Cinsaut, Mature Nebbiolo, Grenache, Pais Oaked Chardonnay, Oaked Chenin Blanc, Oaked Furmint, Oaked Sauvignon Blanc, Oaked Semillon, Barbera, etc.
Wine regions or Styles: Burgundy, Loir, Sancerre, Beaujolais, England, Alsace, Barolo, Barbaresco, Western Cape, Elgin, Walker Bay, Mornington Peninsula, Yarra Valley, Marlborough, Martinborough, Canterbury, Central Otago, Tasmania, Sanoma, Nappa, Santa Rita Hills, Central Coast California, Willamette Valley, Hunter Valley, Auckland
Collection Story
Extending the range beyond the highly successful Jancis Robinson Collection, the Occasional Wine Glasses embody Richard’s design philosophy of creating the perfect tools for Finer Dining, Every Day.
The Occasional Wine Glass Collection consists of three ultralight glasses, Champagne, Bordeaux & Burgundy, each designed with special occasions in mind. The glasses are mouth blown by master glassblowers, gossamer thin, perfectly balanced and feel almost weightless. They are an absolute joy to drink from and they make any glass of wine, whatever the occasion, more pleasurable and more memorable.
The collection has been designed as a family, focusing on creating timeless and elegant shapes. They’ll look great together and will set a beautiful table in both contemporary and traditional environments.

Craftsmanship Story
Each piece in the collection has been mouth-blown by master craftspeople using beautifully bright, exceptionally light, lead free crystal. Despite their seemingly delicate nature, the glasses have been designed with practicality in mind, and as such are dishwasher safe.
Product Care
Despite their ultralight weight these glasses are surprisingly strong, thanks to the high quality lead free crystal they are made from and fit in most dishwashers (we recommend machine washing).
DISHWASHING
We recommend washing drinking glasses in the dishwasher to avoid unnecessary handling. Always ensure glassware is placed on the top shelf of your dishwasher ensuring adequate space between each piece so they do not clink together during the cycle and adhere to the dishwasher manufacturer’s advice on machine adjustments and programs.
HAND-WASHING
If you cannot wash your glasses in a dishwasher, you can wash them by hand.
POLISHING
If your glassware requires polishing, please use one or two large microfibre cloths, and ensure that you never hold the glass by the foot. Hold the bowl of the glass with a cloth in one hand and tuck the remaining fabric into the bowl of the glass. Whilst cupping the bowl, gently move the glass in a circular motion to remove any residual moisture. Once the bowl is dry, use the cloth to polish the stem and the foot, ensuring your bare hands do not touch the bowl of the glass.
