Richard Brendon have designed the afternoon tea service for the new Four Seasons Hotel, Ten Trinity Square
, London. The building, which is now home to this grand hotel, was erected in 1924 by the Port Authority of London and it is therefore fitting that the design for the china was inspired by the site’s rich heritage of global trade and nautical navigation. The collection also takes elements from the building’s magnificent neoclassical architecture, while maintaining a refined aesthetic to ensure it reflects modern London.
Each piece is framed with a Greek Key border in burnished gold and ebony, while the centre features a nautical compass with gold pinstripes radiating outwards. A map of the world can be found on the back of the plates, with a dotted gold line depicting the route formerly taken by tea clippers transporting their goods between China and London.
The tea service is of the highest quality bone china, and entirely handmade by master craftsmen in Stoke-on-Trent, England.
