Chamberlain and Worcester Saucer, c.1800 and Gold Reflect Teacup
Produced by Chamberlain in approximately 1800, this delightful neo-classical design is an elegant example of the factories’ fashionable tea services. Founded in the 1780s by Robert Chamberlain, the factory quickly became popular with British and European nobility, reflected in the regal gilt of this saucer. This combination of rich cobalt blue and gold gilt was highly fashionable at the turn of the century; the golden keys and delicate leaf design are a beautiful example of this trend. In this period, people lived by candlelight, allowing the combination of cobalt blue and gilt to reflect beautifully in the flickering candles during a dark Northern English afternoon tea. In a contemporary setting, our gold Reflect teacups achieve a similarly spectacular result.
Antique British porcelain is never perfect. During the 1800s, kilns were fired on coal resulting in some firing specks at times, whilst makers were known for their experimentation that sometimes resulted in technically imperfect results. As a result, each saucer is truly unique and a small piece of history that has survived centuries to find its new home with you. Our pricing reflects the condition of each piece, and we ask that you embrace the small imperfections that reflect the rich past of British porcelain. This piece has few noticeable marks or wear, and is one of our rarer pieces in the collection.
Each teacup and saucer set comes with a handwritten gift card detailing the history of the antique saucer.
Collection Story
The Reflect collection started with our teacup, which brings life back to antique saucers missing their other halves by using platinum and gold gilding to create highly reflective cups. The mirrored cups reflect the patterned saucers, giving them a new lease of life and a place in contemporary homes.
Each cup is skilfully decorated and then paired with a saucer, all of which have been meticulously sourced from antique dealers across Britain. Reflect has now grown to include matching teapots, milk jugs, sugar bowls and coffee cups, to complete the collection.

Product Care
The antique saucers in our Reflect collection, by their nature, are extremely delicate. We would ask that you wash the pieces by hand only as they are not classed as dishwasher safe.
We recommend using warm water only, as cold or hot water can cause bone china to crack, and a mild detergent to hand wash the pieces. Scouring pads or abrasive washing agents must not be used.
Our Reflect teacups can be cleaned in a dishwasher - at a maximum temperature of 60°C.
Do not use teacup or saucer in the Microwave.
