Richard's Favourite American Beers for Thanksgiving

Richard's Favourite American Beers for Thanksgiving

You may or may not know that we have an American in our midst! Richard was born and grew up in the states and to this day will celebrate Thanksgiving in London with as much enthusiasm as everyone else across the pond. As such, it only feels right for Richard to do our journal takeover today, reminiscing over his favourite American beers with which to celebrate Thanksgiving.

It goes without saying that even when we're not celebrating, we're still drinking beer out of our stemless Jancis Robinson glasses which are perfect for all beers, cider and even water.

1. Founders Brewing All Day IPA

"The name says it all: this is the perfect beer for Thanksgiving, when celebrations start early and finish late. It's a sessional beer that doesn't compromise on taste, which is often hard to come by"

2. Sierra Nevada Brewing Co. Pale Ale

"If you read our recent post about tasting wine, you'll know why our sense of smell and taste can stir up such vivid memories. This is exactly what happens with Sierra Nevada, which really takes me back to my first Thanksgiving as an adult in America when I was living in Lake Tahoe. Thanksgiving just isn't the same without it now!"

3. Firestone Stickee Monkee: Central Coast Quad

"Not one that I found in America, but actually from my local (and favourite) independent beer and wine shop, Real AleI'm a big fan of a barrel-aged beer, and this one in particular is interesting, as it brewed with Belgian candi sugar and aged in fine bourbon barrels."

Happy Thanksgiving from us, to you!

For those in the UK, don't fret, you're not missing out! We like to buy our International beers from here
