SETTING YOUR FESTIVE TABLE
With increasingly fewer sleeps until the big day, we’re already dreaming of tables laden with all the Christmas trimmings and many a festive cheer. The perfectly set table is a key ingredient for a spectacular Christmas dinner, and we have all the elements needed to make sure your tablescape is worthy of a visit from Saint Nick himself.
With increasingly fewer sleeps until the big day, we’re already dreaming of tables laden with all the seasonal trimmings. The perfectly set table is a key ingredient for a spectacular festive dinner, and we have all the elements needed to make sure your tablescape is worthy of a visit from Saint Nick himself.
Setting The Scene
A bountiful festive tablescape is almost as important as having the perfect tree come the 25th, and lays the foundation for a long leisurely lunch with your closest family and friends.
To embrace the festive period, we recommend combining pieces from our Arc Collection with some subtly opulent Line Gold pieces for a beautifully twinkling setting. We’re using our Arc Collection Charger Plate, Line Gold Dinner Plate (28cm) and Arc Coupe Side Plate for each setting, accenting the table with Arc Cereal Bowls. Although the ultimate vehicle for cereal Christmas morning, these bowls are also our go-tos for serving our favourite side dishes as well as decorative accents.
No tablescape is truly complete without some floral accents. This season, we’re opting for muted tones and soft twinkling lights to complement a cosy afternoon of catching up with family and friends.
For the ultimate floral display, we always choose McQueens Flowers. Combining almost burnished roses with rich green pine sprigs, mistletoe and a golden vase offers the perfect backdrop to the star dishes on the day, whether that be traditional turkey, a shoulder of lamb or a nut roast! Add some smaller branches of berries and pine cones across the table for a playful winter woodland effect too.
Pouring some holiday cheer
A much-needed addition to any table is a bottle or two of wine. We’re drinking, of course, from our Jancis Robinson Wine Glasses, whilst our Mature and Young Wine Decanters are passed around the table. The elegant design of these pieces adds to our table scene without distracting from the glistening gold detailing of our bone china pieces or floral centrepieces.
To start our festive feasting, we’re sipping Mirabeau Etoile with a taster of smoked salmon, served on our Line Gold Collection pieces. The best start to any seasonal dinner!
For those needing a little nibble of substance before lunch, we’re pairing a small charcuterie offering from La Fromagerie of cured meats, alongside our favourite crisps and smoked almonds from Brindisa, with a Pieropan La Rocca. What better snacking for present opening and welcome drinks?
Finally, the heart of any festive meal is the main course, and we’re serving Giant Step’s Pinot Noir alongside ours. The Jancis Robinson Wine Glass will be used throughout, perfectly elevating every glass of wine, from our rosé to red!
We’re taking our glass of Pinot Noir into pudding, starting, as any decadent lunch dictates, with some cheese. Sourced from La Fromagerie, our Line Gold Side Plate is the perfect choice for the cheese course and rich fruits to go alongside.
As for pudding, we’re embracing some Italian influence and serving panettone with a small tipple of Amaretto. Our Fluted Shot Glasses offer a delightful sip for your tipple of choice, but we’re staying Italian for our nightcap this season.
