Introducing Dragon Flower | Richard Brendon

Following the success of our initial collaboration with the V&A, Richard has developed upon one of the hero patterns, Dragon Flower, to create an elegant range of bone china dinnerware. This collection is meticulously handcrafted in Stoke-On-Trent, renowned as the heart of British ceramics, seamlessly blending contemporary design with traditional craftsmanship. The result is a timeless collection destined to be cherished and enjoyed for generations to come.

Comprising a total of 16 pieces, Dragon Flower offers the perfect dinner and tea service, including items such as our Medium Teapot and Coupe Plates. It effortlessly transports you to the Georgian era, drawing inspiration from the decorative aesthetics of the Imari pattern. 

Bone china, known for its exceptional durability, boasts high mechanical and physical strength, along with chip resistance. Moreover, it retains its translucency while maintaining a brilliant white colour.

Dragon Flower takes key elements from the originally ornate and striking pattern from our V&A Series to create a more refined and delicate finish for a pared back, contemporary table setting.

The pattern is Richard Brendon’s homage to the decorative floral designs of the late 18th and early 19th century era, but with a mythical eastern twist by turning the flowers into dragons. The collection is skilfully hand crafted and decorated in Stoke-on-Trent, both paying tribute to tradition and showcasing Richard Brendon’s continued commitment to regenerating the British ceramic industry.

Richard Brendon chose the Dragon Flower pattern for the second instalment of his collaboration with the V&A for its adaptability and elegance. The imaginative floral pattern also features whimsical floral motifs in complementary hues of orange, blue and gold. Each motif is placed by hand onto the bone china but in a slight variation, meaning each piece crafted for the collection is a unique edition.
