Jancis Robinson MW honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award

Every few years, members of the Institute of Masters of Wine vote for ‘an outstanding and inspirational figure in the world of wine whose enduring contribution spans a whole career’.

Jancis Robinson OBE MW was honoured by her peers with the Lifetime Achievement Award this year. She joins previous recipients such as Robert Mondavi, Baroness Philippine de Rothschild and Hugh Johnson.

The ceremony was held on the eve of Vinexposium’s V d’Or, a wine and spirits event in Paris. Jancis was unable to attend the event but was able to comment via Zoom.

‘Here’s to many more women in wine being so recognised. I give sincere thanks to the amazing and supportive team at JancisRobinson.com, who work so hard and so brilliantly, as well as my collaborators on all the books and at the Financial Times. And finally, this award should of course, be shared with my wonderful, long-suffering, growing family, not least my husband Nick Lander, who has looked after me so well for 43 years.’

It is a well-deserved recognition, and we'll certainly be raising our Jancis Robinson Wine Glass in celebration.

Jancis’ is most well-known as a Master of Wine and for her career as a wine critic, a contributor for the Financial Times and her own published material. Most notably The World Atlas of Wine and The 24-hour Wine Expert.
